Reforestation and Hardwood Lumber Exports

Maderas Sostenibles operates on both the Atlantic and Pacific coasts of Nicaragua. We're processing and exporting fallen tropical hardwood timber products from areas that were devastated by Hurricane Felix in 2007, and planting and managing hardwood timber plantations with teak and high value native species on spent pastureland on the Pacific coast.

Welcome To Our Company

Maderas Sostenibles S.A.(MSSA) is a Nicaraguan forestry management company involved in the reforestation and sustainable management of tropical rainforest. Maderas Sostenibles operates in the area devastated by Hurricane Felix in 2007 harvesting the fallen tropical hardwood. MSSA also plants and manages timber plantations on spent pastureland in the pacific coast area of Nicaragua. Nicaragua is ideal for reforestation due to the low cost of labor and land which are the major inputs in timberland investments. Our company promotes and manages forestry investments in plantations of teak and native species for investors seeking safe high returns via environmentally beneficial investments.

From sapling to export

Maderas Sostenibles is not only a timber plantation management company we are also a producer and exporter of sustainable tropical timber products, thus we know the true value and costs involved in the production of lumber products. We own and manage a private 175 acre plantation near San Juan del Sur, Rivas which we have planted with fast growing trees like teak, mahogany, pochote, spanish cedar and african mahogany which all produce high value lumber products with high demand on the international market. We own and operate a sawmill on the Atlantic Coast of Nicaragua exporting multiple native species to different buyers in the Caribbean, United States, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Europe, Asia and India. MSSA intimately knows the process of producing lumber from extraction, milling, transport, export and sales. MSSA has solid relations with the government regulation branch INAFOR which recognizes us as one of the export mills who also plant and manage hardwood plantations.
